Baby for sale for meth

The Salem Oregon edition of craigslist apparently listed a baby for sale for meth by a couple desperate to get high. Police were alerted and the post was deleted by craigslist yesterday.

The post reportedly said:

“The baby’s mother isn’t coming back” and “We are out of tweak and we will sell this baby for a $1,000.”

This afternoon 33 year old Patrick Lee Ryan was arrested and is being charged with buying or selling a child, disorderly conduct in the first degree and computer crime in connection with the crime. It’s reported to have been a very lame hoax and an attempt to draw police attention to the couple named in the posting. The man responsible for posting doesn’t have any children (Thank God). His bail is set at $35,000.

You must not have read the entire story, mandi, they didn't even have a kid. Another tweaker got paranoid, and thought they could get the “police” off their back by pointing the attention elsewhere, when in fact it was only demons lurking around their house instead of po po. They narked out their “friends” for no reason, Classical paranoid meth story.

OMG! I've joked to my daughter that I'll trade her for 10 goats on Ebay if she doesn't behave herself, or donate her to the Circus as their new trapeze-monkey, but…really, someone actually posted that on Craigslist?!

How awful! And I thought some adoption practices were bad…
